This revival project began with the search for a compelling Latin typeface specimen, which lead me to typeface of Spain. Imprenta Real, the Royal Printing House in Madrid, 1799.
This project focuses on the revival of Specimen No.25, specifically the Lectura size (approximately i to 12 points), a typeface that embodies the aesthetic principles of the Spanish Royal Printing House. Its high-contrast strokes, unconventional progressive curves, and relatively short ascenders and descenders create a dynamic, expressive letterform that balances elegance with structural clarity.
